LaMarcus Tinker is the newest character on the acclaimed television show Friday Night Lights in its 4th season now exclusively on Direct TV 101 and on NBC summer 2010. Season 5 is airing now on Direct TV and on NBC Spring 2011.
Tinker is also currently a recurring character on Cougartown now currently on ABC.
Tinker came to East Dillon in season 4 episode 1 and immediately took on an imposing and humorous persona. As the season progresses we will learn more of what makes Tinker tick as an East Dillon Lion. Coach Taylor's challenge to create a winning football program at this less than stellar school across the tracks has him looking toward this big guy Tinker.
LaMarcus Tinker, a native Houstonian, is appearing in his first major televison production. Acting is not his only pursuit. He is a partner in a film and theatre production company as well. He has some production and directing credits under his ample belt as well. Stay tuned for more.....

Tinker joins Landry (Jesse Plemons) as part of the East Dillon Lions. The new story line is getting quite a bit of media buzz as Coach Taylor takes his coaching business across town to a school that can only be described as the polar opposite of the State Champions he has coached in the past at Dillon High. East Dillon is scrappy and the Lions are fighting to put the football program not only in the win category but keep them on the field as Principal Levi Burnwell (Troy Hogan, another Houston actor) tells Coach Taylor in Season 4 Episode 3 - "You weren't supposed to take this job. ...you are the only one who didn't get the joke..."

Tinker and Jess (Jurnee Smollett) on the set of Season 4 of Friday Night Lights which is filmed in Austin and surrounding spots. Jess is another new character in Season 4 at East Dillon High. LaMarcus is thrilled to know Jurnee Smollett as just a few years ago he was greatly influenced by "The Great Debaters" her breakout film starring Denzel Washington. LaMarcus went on to coach and teach debate to other students who were equally bitten by the Debate bug that grew from the popularity of the movie.
Is there a love connection between Tinker and Jess.... or Tinker and Smollett....stay tuned for more.....
The bloggers are on it, the fans are repeating him and everybody is singing his praises - "Tinker is the heart of the show."
And that's just with three episodes! Here are a few Tinkerisms:
Coach: "How ya doin' Tinker?" Tinker: Solid, coach." episode 1
Tinker singing a gospel favorite: "I'm on the battlefield for my Lord." episode 1
Tinker:"Coach, why are we pushing this damn car?" episode 3
Tinker: "Not feeling the love there, are you feeling the love?" episode 3
